Greetings from Guatemala and Happy Easter to you all. Easter is a great season to be in Guatemala. There are celebrations all month long leading up to Easter Sunday, with beautiful (alfombras), Spanish for carpets, that the people make on the street using colored sawdust, flowers, fruit and sometimes even coffee and chocolate. They make these carpets on the street then march over the top of them in processions.
We have had teams here this year from Texas and Florida, a total of five teams so far. We did a lot of great ministry with them all, however, none here for this month. We have been doing some catching up and making plans for future work. We have met a very nice couple from Alabama in the Eastern part of the country who are building a school and have a medical clinic. They need help with a water well and water purification system, also, we went and looked at another school that needs help with another pump for their well and some piping.
Also, we will be helping Village of Hope, a special needs orphanage here in San Lucas with a water well in the near future. This orphanage has 25 kids there now, but they are building onto their facility, more homes for more children and house parents. They expect that there will be as many as 125 people there at almost all times, so their water supply from the city of San Lucas is not enough for that many people.
We are making plans to come to Texas and visit with Churches, family and friends, then go to Church builders in Alabama. We look forward to visiting with everybody that we can.
One of my favorite bible verses is in Col. 3:17 “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed., do it all in the name of the Lord, Jesus”
And now for the prayer request for this month, Please pray for our travels to the States soon, and to Church builders in Alabama. All the other people who will be traveling there too. Also please pray for the time of Easter here in Guatemala, That more people would come to know our Risen Lord Jesus.
