Greetings from Guatemala, well its the end of rainy season, the beginning of dry season and windy here now and getting a little cooler.
We have had some visitors this last month. We had a pastor come to visit and check out the possibilities for bringing teams back in the future. He is Pastor David Kaufmann from Rockdale, Tx. He is the pastor who preached my moms grave side service in Gause, Tx. Also we had Jeremy Farber and his daughter Hannah come down for a week and both these groups did lots of great ministry.
First let me tell you about Pastor David. He is a pastor in Gause, Tx. who preached the grave side service for my mom. That is the area where my mom grew up, met my dad, married there. He now lives and is the interim pastor for a local church in Rockdale, Tx. He only stayed down here for 3 days, but we packed a lot of ministry into those 3 days. We visited families where we have built homes, installed stoves, went and fed kids at Santa maria de Jesus, Campos de Suenos, took water filter buckets to people. I think he liked what God is doing here because he is making plans to bring a team back in July.
The next week we had some visitors who we met at church builders, It was Jeremy Farber and his daughter Hannah. They stayed a week. We built a house, went to the feeding center, Campos de Suenos, delivered water filter buckets, installed stoves, witnessed to many different families, sharing the love of our Lord and Savior. It is such a great blessing to have these friends come here and help with the ministry. They too are making plans to return with a team. We hope to be able to go into more remote areas of Guatemala, up into the mountains where people have not had the chance to hear about our Lord Jesus. With the help of Obed we are searching out areas like this.
I want to let you all know about some things that are taking place here now regarding home building and stove instillation. We and others with our church have been doing return visits with families who have received these blessings and God is blessing that sown seed. There have been 16 professions of faith recently. That is a great big Praise God. So thank you to all who have helped to make this possible.
We will be heading to Texas soon for Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family. For the first time in seven years we will get to have Thanksgiving in Texas.
Now for the prayer request for this month. We ask you to pray for travel safety as we go to Texas. Pray for all future teams coming to serve in Guatemala. Please pray for Obed and Ana as they stay in Guatemala and host visitors while we are not here.
God’s word in 1 Corinthians 3:7-10 says. ” So neither the one plants counts for anything, nor the one who waters, but God who causes the growth. The one who plants and the one who waters work as one, but each will receive his reward according to his work. We are coworkers belonging to God. You are God’s field, God’s building.”
